Auto insurance rates are going up and up all the time. The problem is that the car insurance is a legal requirement but companies are free to charge whatever auto insurance rates they want. However, there are ways to lower these rates without invalidating your insurance because you have lied about something.

Where you park is a big thing that will raise your auto insurance rates. If you park on the road, you should expect to pay more than if you parked in a driveway. If you have a garage connected to your home, stop putting your junk in there and start parking your car in there overnight; it really will lower your auto insurance rates.

The next step is the car that you have and any add-ons that you have. If you want to add anything onto your car, make it an alarm, immobilizer, tracker or all three. This will make your car harder to steal and will lower your auto insurance rates. If you start adding alloy wheels and a great sound system, your car is more likely to be broken into or stolen.

Get all of your insurance policies together. Insurance companies tend to reward loyal customers by keeping their auto insurance rates low if you have another policy with them. This is similar to buying in bulk. If you have your home insurance, look at taking it out with the same company; you could also consider your life insurance too to keep your auto insurance rates low.
